Community Guidelines & Terms of Service
Let's keep the Everything California network — Everything SCV, Everything LA, and beyond — a safe, respectful, and thriving community! 🌟
Be Kind & Respectful
Treat everyone with respect. We're all neighbors here! No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or personal attacks. Disagree with ideas, not people.
Keep It Local & Relevant
The Everything California network — including Everything SCV, Everything LA, and future city hubs — is for local residents and community members. Share local events, recommendations, and community updates relevant to your city. No spam, advertising (unless you're a Pro member), or off-topic content.

6. AI-Assisted Content & Image Disclaimer
Some of the content, images, and recommendations on Everything California (including EverythingSCV and EverythingLA) are created or assisted using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. How we protect the privacy of children under 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act
1. Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
the Everything California network complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our platform is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
2. Parental Consent Before Data Collection
If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will not collect any personal information from that child until verifiable parental consent has been obtained. Parents or legal guardians must provide consent before any personal information — such as a name, email address, photo, or location data — is collected from a child under 13. If consent is not provided, the child's account and any associated data will be removed.
3. Data Minimization & Transparency
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate our services. In the event a child under 13 uses our platform with parental consent, we will:
- Collect only what is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in the activity
- Never condition a child's participation on providing more information than is needed
- Clearly describe what information is collected, how it is used, and our disclosure practices
4. Data Security
We maintain reasonable procedures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of all personal information we collect — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage. Information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, and is then deleted using reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access.
5. Parental Rights & Deletion Policy
Parents and legal guardians have the right, at any time, to:
- Review the personal information we have collected from their child
- Request that we delete their child's personal information
- Refuse to permit any further collection or use of their child's information
- Revoke previously given consent
Upon a verified parental request, we will promptly delete the child's personal information and terminate the associated account.
6. Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or disclose personal information collected from children under 13 to third parties without separate, verifiable parental consent. Parents may consent to our collection and use of their child's information while refusing to permit disclosure to third parties — participation in our services will never be conditioned on consenting to third-party disclosure.
👨👩👧 Parents: If you believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at chris.rodriguez0907@gmail.com and we will promptly delete that information.
What we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have
1. Information We Collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and profile details you choose to provide
- Content you create — posts, comments, reviews, messages, saved favorites, and event RSVPs
- Usage information — pages viewed, features used, and general interaction data that helps us improve the platform
- Device information — browser type and push notification tokens (only if you opt in to notifications)
- Email subscriptions — the areas and topics you subscribe to for weekly updates
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Everything California network: providing community features, personalizing recommendations, sending communications you've requested, keeping the platform safe, and processing transactions. We collect only what is necessary to provide our services.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers — payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, and secure hosting, strictly to operate the platform
- Other users — content you choose to post publicly (community posts, reviews, public profile details)
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our community
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (like your home hub and language), and measure aggregate page traffic so we can improve the platform. We do not use cross-site tracking for advertising purposes.
5. Device Permissions We May Request
Certain features ask for access to device capabilities. Each permission is optional, requested only when you use the related feature, and can be turned off at any time in your device settings:
- Location — used once, when you tap "Find my area," to detect the nearest California hub (for example, showing you San Diego events instead of Sacramento events). Your location is compared against city centers on your device and is never stored or shared.
- Microphone — used only while you hold the talk button to ask the AI Concierge a question by voice (for example, saying "find family-friendly restaurants near me" instead of typing it). Audio is transcribed for your request and is not recorded or stored.
- Camera & Photo Library — used only when you choose to add a photo to a community post, story, review, or your profile picture (for example, snapping a photo of a local event to share with neighbors). We only access photos you explicitly select or capture.
- Notifications — used only if you opt in, to send you event reminders, message alerts, and local updates for the areas you follow (for example, a reminder the morning of an event you saved).
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain personal information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services and meet legal obligations. We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and secure storage. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.
7. Your Choices & Account Deletion
- Emails — unsubscribe from weekly area emails at any time using the link in any email or your settings
- Push notifications — disable at any time in your browser or device settings
- Profile visibility — control what appears on your public profile
- Account deletion — permanently delete your account and associated personal data from your Profile page, or by contacting us
8. Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 should use the platform with the involvement of a parent or guardian. For children under 13, see our Children's Privacy (COPPA) section above.
🔐 Privacy questions? Contact us at chris.rodriguez0907@gmail.com for any privacy-related request or question.

Terms for Pro memberships, advertising, and other paid features
1. Payment Processing
All payments on the Everything California network are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and authorize the charges you initiate.
2. Subscriptions & Automatic Renewal
Pro memberships are billed on a recurring basis and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. Your payment method will be charged at the start of each new period at the then-current rate. In accordance with California's automatic renewal law, the renewal terms, cancellation policy, and price are presented clearly before you subscribe.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Business Dashboard or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your Pro benefits until then, and no further charges will be made.
4. Refunds
Subscription fees and advertising purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or in cases of billing errors. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will review and correct verified errors promptly.
5. Advertising Purchases
Paid ad placements are subject to our content standards. We reserve the right to reject or remove advertising that violates our Community Guidelines; in such cases, unused prepaid amounts will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
6. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will be communicated to active subscribers at least 30 days before it takes effect, and will apply starting with your next billing period — giving you the opportunity to cancel first.

2. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in California.
3. Informal Resolution First
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and amicably this way.
4. Indemnification
