California & Santa Barbara County Firearms Regulations
California has some of the strictest firearms regulations in the nation. All shooters must comply with California Penal Code regarding firearm transport, storage, and use. Firearms must be transported unloaded and in a locked container. The City of Santa Barbara, the City of Goleta, the City of Santa Maria, the City of Lompoc, and unincorporated Santa Barbara County may have additional local ordinances. Recreational shooting on public lands managed by Los Padres National Forest or the Bureau of Land Management is strictly regulated — many areas are closed to discharge entirely. Always confirm legal status before shooting outside an established range, and never shoot near structures, roads, or trails.
Hours, pricing, allowed calibers, and facility policies can change without notice. Always verify details on the official range website or by phone before visiting.
